Here are 15 lines from Homer's Odyssey, along with their English translations. This excerpt is taken from Book 1, where Odysseus is discussed and the theme of his long journey home is introduced.

1. Ἄνδρα μοι ἔννεπε, Μοῦσα, πολύτροπον, ὃς μάλα πολλὰ
2. ἐπίσπασεν ἱερόν, πολλὰ δ' ἔτελε καὶ ἄνδρα ἑωυτοῦ.
3. Ἰθάκης ἐν νησιὶ τοῖσιν εἴσιν ἄλλαις,
4. ὅσσα δ' ἔπειτα καὶ αὐτὸν ἠνείρετο, ἤδη ἀρνῶν.
5. ἔχουσιν δ' αὐτοῦ πατρῴων, ὅσον ἱερὸν
6. ἦμαρ καὶ ἐξ ἄκρων. Ἄλσῃ δ' ἐξαίφνης
7. οὔτι ποτε ἐπὶ γαῖαν τὴν ἐκ Φαιάκων

English Translation
1. Tell me, O Muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide,
2. after he had sacked the sacred city of Troy.
3. Many cities of men did he see and learn their ways of thinking,
4. and many nations did he know, and he suffered much on the seas
5. by the year he returned home; it was not without the gods' intervention.
6. His home was in Ithaca, an island among many others,
7. but he was far from it, lost in strange lands.
8. No one had seen him,
9. as the winds had blown him away to foreign shores.
10. So he should come back, who was the leader of the Achaeans,
11. and I, too, will rise up in the halls of the blessed.
12. Ithaca was his home, and in it were many
13. treasures and much honor,
14. as the glory of his deeds and the work of
15. his own hands brought him fame and fortune.
